England unveils roster video featuring Beatles song 'Come Together' before World Cup 2026

England Reveals World Cup Squad with a Beatle Twist

On Friday morning, England tapped into its rich British heritage to announce their 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They did so with a lively video featuring the Beatles’ iconic song “Come Together.”

The video kicks off with an old clip of John Lennon being asked about the band’s Britishness. He responds, “I think we’re cheerful British people, actually.”

As enthusiastic fans donned their World Cup jerseys and filled the streets of London, the first notes of “Come Together” rang out, setting an electric atmosphere. The excitement was palpable.

The athletes’ names appeared everywhere—on storefronts, taxi ads, and street posters. But that was just the start. The scene shifted to a whimsical yellow submarine animation, where a lion danced alongside the submarine, revealing more players’ names.

Stepping into a vibrant nightclub scene adorned with cowboy boots, vintage England jerseys, and a photobooth, the screen burst into a kaleidoscope of colors. Names of more players popped up on clothes and children’s T-shirts emblazoned with “KANE.”

The presentation was stylish, bold, and a touch quirky—it had the unmistakable flair of the Beatles. It reminded viewers of the recent NFL schedule announcement; England certainly knew how to create a buzz.

Leading the squad is captain Harry Kane, a formidable striker at the helm of a team packed with attacking prowess, including stars like Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, and Jude Bellingham. Declan Rice is expected to orchestrate the midfield for this blend of seasoned veterans and rising talents, under the guidance of manager Thomas Tuchel.

Currently, England holds the third-best odds of clinching the World Cup, sitting at second in global rankings. However, the weight of history looms large; the last time they lifted the trophy was back in 1966, and they’ve only progressed beyond the quarter-finals once since 1990.

Yet, there’s something different about this team.

After warm-up matches against New Zealand and Costa Rica in Florida, they’re set to kick off Group L against Croatia on June 17th in Arlington, Texas.

With the rallying cry of “Come Together,” if they really do unite this summer, they could create a legacy that resonates long after the final whistle.
