Epstein poses a danger to Trump’s presidency, according to Loomer

Loomer: Epstein threatens to 'consume' Trump presidency

Laura Rumer, a long-time supporter of President Trump, expressed worries in a recent interview that the federal scrutiny surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case might overshadow his second term in office.

In the interview with Politico, Rumer drew parallels between the current situation and the media frenzy surrounding Russia during Trump’s first term.

“I just hope this doesn’t dominate his presidency,” she remarked.

She emphasized the distinction between the Russian narrative from almost ten years ago and the recent allegations tied to a deceased financier and convicted sex offender.

“Clearly, this isn’t a complete fabrication, especially given the facts around his past and his connections to Epstein,” she noted.

“That’s why I keep saying this: appointing a special attorney to manage the Epstein investigation would be the most prudent step for the President,” she added.

Rumer, who previously succeeded in managing the Epstein documents more effectively than Attorney General Pam Bondy, reiterated her stance that a special counsel is necessary. She criticized Bondy’s transparency and handling of the issue.

Several high-profile Trump allies, including lawmakers, have echoed her demands for more disclosure regarding the Epstein records. Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) has also supported Rumer’s call for a special advisor.

Recently, the Justice Department and the FBI confirmed that Epstein did not maintain a client list, asserting he died by suicide in a New York City jail in 2019.

This revelation has enraged many within the MAGA movement, who have long propagated conspiracy theories regarding Epstein’s death, suggesting that prominent Democrats would be implicated in a client list.

In response to criticism, Trump took to social media, labeling the uproar about the Epstein files as a “fraud” instigated by Democrats and implying he is less receptive to supporters wanting more clarity on the issue.

“The new scam we’re calling the Jeffrey Epstein hoax, and my former supporters seem to have completely fallen for this,” Trump posted. “It’s like some are stuck in a loop, not understanding the truth.” He stressed the accomplishments of his administration, dismissing the concerns as distractions.
