Eric Swalwell Makes Brief Appearance on “Jury Duty: Company Camp”
Former Representative Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) appeared briefly on Prime Video’s “Jury Duty: Company Camp,” catching some viewers off guard following recent allegations of sexual misconduct that led to his resignation.
One viewer reacted, noting, “That’s wild.” Another user expressed that they were unaware of Swalwell’s participation in the show, referring to him as “disgraceful.” In another thread, a user called him “a little unpleasant” on the show.
When one person questioned why people were silent about Swalwell’s presence, another responded, expressing relief that his airtime was “shortened.”
Bill Maher Critiques Swalwell
Entertainment news outlet Decider reported that Swalwell made his appearance around the 18th minute of the episode. While his seminar was not featured in the final cut, he asked the cast if they had questions and pointedly inquired about “the corrosive influence of money in politics,” putting his hands in his pockets with a sigh.
Allegations Against Swalwell
His full response during the show was reportedly edited out due to time constraints, and filming took place about two years prior to the latest allegations being made public. Amazon has not yet commented on the situation.
Swalwell has faced numerous accusations of sexual misconduct from several women in recent weeks. As a result of these allegations, he was suspended and then resigned from his congressional role. While maintaining his innocence concerning the accusations, he acknowledged having made past mistakes.
In a statement related to his resignation, he apologized to his family, staff, and constituents for his “errors of judgment” and asserted his plan to contest the alleged accusations against him, while also taking accountability for his actions.
The Department of Justice is currently investigating multiple charges against Swalwell, with Los Angeles and New York district attorneys also pursuing their inquiries.
