Erika Kirk asks the judge to permit cameras in Tyler Robinson’s trial: ‘Let everyone witness what true evil looks like’

Erica Kirk Advocates for Cameras in Tyler Robinson’s Trial

In a recent appeal to the court, Erica Kirk is urging the judge to permit news cameras during the trial of Tyler Robinson, the man accused of murdering her husband, Charlie Kirk. She expressed that this would help expose “true evil.”

During an interview with Jesse Watters, Erica Kirk, who is the widow of Turning Point USA’s founder, spoke against the defense’s attempts to prevent cameras in Robinson’s trial.

“When my husband was murdered, cameras were everywhere, capturing my family’s anguish and my own grief. We had to endure that scrutiny, and I believe it’s fair for cameras to be present now,” she articulated.

“Why is this any different? I have nothing to hide. I know the details of the case, and I’m confident in that,” Kirk added.

“We should all witness the reality of this situation. It will have implications for many generations,” she concluded.

Robinson, who has opted for virtual appearances due to the publicity surrounding the case, has yet to show up in the courtroom physically. This follows District Court Judge Tony F. Grant Jr.’s decision, stating that Robinson should not be captured on camera when arriving or leaving the court. It’s worth noting that while he may wear civilian attire during the proceedings—upholding the presumption of innocence—Robinson will be required to wear handcuffs due to the severity of the charges against him.

Facing multiple charges, including aggravated murder, Robinson could potentially face the death penalty if found guilty. His charges are tied to the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, while he was addressing attendees at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. It’s alleged that Robinson fired a single shot from a nearby rooftop, fatally wounding the conservative commentator.

Robinson’s first in-person court appearance is set for January 16, 2026.
