Erling Haaland’s American Adventure

Erling Haaland seems to be developing quite the fondness for America.

He recently made waves by steering Norway to an unexpected quarter-final in the World Cup, but his experiences in the U.S. have also left a mark. He’s embraced various aspects of American culture, sporting cowboy hats and attending hockey games.

Even after leaving, it’s evident that his time in the U.S. has influenced him.

In a recent post, a shirtless Haaland can be seen hitting a golf ball off a boat and hanging out at a putting green. He shared the moment while listening to Ella Langley’s catchy tune, “Choosin’ Texas,” as she sent a golf ball flying into the ocean.

While it remains uncertain if or when he plans to return, his time in America was evidently filled with joy, especially beyond soccer.

“I like Americans,” Haaland mentioned to reporters. “I think they’re kind of funny, too. I like that about them.” This was following Norway’s match against England, where they faced defeat.

“The World Cup here has been fantastic so far. From the stadiums to the training grounds, everything has been really wonderful. I’m just really happy,” he shared.

During his stay, he even posted a fun selfie with a Snapchat filter that had him resembling Shrek. He was also photographed wearing a humorous shirt that read, “Guys, you can kiss my Dallas.”

After scoring in a recent match against Ivory Coast, Haaland took a trip to Wild Bill’s Western Store in Dallas, eager to grab some Texas memorabilia. He ended up purchasing four Stetson hats and a pair of snakeskin cowboy boots.

“Hello,” he said when he entered the store. “Dallas is awesome. I’m definitely coming back here. The people are so positive and just seem to enjoy life.” Well, perhaps that explains his choice in music, leaning towards songs referencing Texas.

You can take Haaland out of America, but you can’t quite take America out of Haaland.
