Even liberal media cannot ignore the border wall-sized problem with Harris campaign ad

Without a detailed policy platform outlining what she would ultimately do if elected president, Kamala Harris is instead campaigning on what she wants American voters to think she has accomplished.

Harris
Placed election advertisements Earlier this month, she touted her record at the border, and upon closer inspection, critics and even some in the liberal media have found something a bit off about her record. 30 Second Video: President Donald Trump’s border wall.

While alluding to Harris’s tough stance on the border, the campaign ad repeatedly brings up the border wall, which she long criticized and then was included in budget cuts when President Joe Biden took office.

Omit any mention
Tens of millions of illegal immigrants Regarding the criminals who have entered the country on Harris’ watch, the ad’s narrator claims, “As a border state prosecutor, she cracked down on drug cartels and jailed gang members who smuggled weapons and guns across the border.”

“As vice president, she supported the toughest border control bill in decades,” the narrator says. “And as president, she’ll hire thousands more Border Patrol agents and crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking. Fixing the border is hard. And so is Kamala Harris.”

Mike Howell, executive director of the Heritage Foundation’s government watchdog group Oversight Project, highlighted the cameo appearance of Trump’s border wall in Friday’s video.

ABC News’ Jonathan Karl spoke with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday.
asked“What do you think about her change on this issue?”

Sanders offered a diplomatic response, blaming Harris for any potential border policy.

“Trump’s border wall is just a stupid way to spend money.”

Kahl, who appears to expect Sanders to acknowledge the vice president’s radical shift on the issue, said, “What struck me when I looked at that ad, and I think you have an image here, is that there are at least three border walls in that ad. Donald Trump’s border wall.”

“Are Democrats now in favor of a border wall?” Karl asked.

“You may want to contact the Harris campaign about that ad,” Sanders said.

Harris’ use of Trump’s work to visually suggest she took credit for it might not have been as controversial had she not waged a long-running rhetoric and administrative campaign against the wall.

Reported In February 2018, congressional Democrats balked at giving President Trump $25 billion for a border wall in exchange for giving illegal immigrants known as “Dreamers” a path to citizenship. Harris was one of three Senate Democrats to reject the deal.

A spokesman for Harris suggested at the time: “With any vote in the Senate, she considers all the evidence, does her homework and does what she believes is right, and this was no exception.”

In a statement, Harris made it clear that the funds “should not be used to implement the current Administration’s anti-immigration policies.”

In 2019, while promoting her book, “The Truths We Hold: An American Journey,” Harris wrote:
Reportedly He suggested the wall was a “vanity project” for President Trump and warned that he would face lawsuits if it went ahead.

At a CNN town hall a few weeks later, Harris

Harris appears to be trying to downplay her record of weakening border security, given polling data that shows Americans are tired of illegal immigration.

Gallup
Revealed Last month, 53% of respondents expressed a desire to expand wall construction along the U.S. border, while 63% said they supported allowing the president and the secretary of homeland security to block asylum seekers from entering the country if the southern border becomes overwhelmed.

A Monmouth University poll earlier this year found that more than eight in 10 Americans see illegal immigration as a very serious problem (61%) or somewhat serious problem (23%).

The poll also found that 53% of respondents support a border wall.

A Harris campaign ad featuring President Trump’s border wall drew criticism earlier this month for a different reason: The police officers standing next to her wanted to let it be known that their image had been used without their permission and that they did not endorse Harris.

The Blaze News previously reported that Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreau and District Attorney Tim Ward were outraged that they were seen on video.

“In light of Kamala Harris’ recent political advertisements featuring Sheriff Boudreau and local law enforcement, the Sheriff wants to clarify that his image has been used without permission and that he has not endorsed Harris for President or any other public office,” Sheriff Boudreau said in a statement.

“As Sheriff Boudreau said, I don’t want the use of that photo to be interpreted as an endorsement in any way. [Harris] “That won’t change during her candidacy, her current candidacy or her tenure as California attorney general,” Ward said.

Tulare County officials also disputed the description of Harris as a “border state prosecutor.”

“The truth is, Harris doesn’t care about the drug cartels and has done nothing to stop people from crossing the border illegally,” Boudreau said.
