Everyone shares the blame: How media misinformation contributed to Charlie Kirk's murder

Tragic Loss of Charlie Kirk at Conservative Event

Yesterday, America faced a devastating blow as Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed during his speech at the “American Comeback Tour” event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

His shocking death reverberated across conservative circles in the United States.

“He challenges the left, suggesting they think you should die, which he calls a respectful dialogue,” Sarah Gonzalez expressed through tears, stating Kirk has always been unfiltered.

Gonzalez remarked on the honorable approach that Kirk took: “It wasn’t about hatred; it was about changing hearts and minds through dialogue.”

Reflecting on the timing of Kirk’s murder, she said, “Charlie was just on the news,” referring to his recent discussion about the murder of Ukrainian refugee Irina Zaltoska.

During a segment, Kirk stated, “It’s widely known that she was targeted because she was white.” This commentary seemed to incite pushback from other media personalities.

Van Jones, in response, ignored the suspect’s admission on camera that “I got that white girl” and claimed Kirk was sensationalizing race issues.

“Kirk should be ashamed,” Jones stated, falsely alleging that Kirk was the only one discussing race in the matter.

“It’s baffling to see why radicalization is on the rise,” Sarah contended. “When you listen to CNN, it seems they portray Charlie Kirk as the villain instead.”

She speculated whether this tragic event had been inevitable, expressing concern about escalating violence, saying, “Was it only a matter of time? They’ve tried to eliminate our president before. Are they coming after us next?”

Matthew Marsden, a contributor, had a strong message for those on social media who were mourning Kirk’s death while condemning political violence: “Kirk didn’t deserve this.”
