LeBron James Rumors Resurface

Jonathan Gotshall, who made headlines back in 2014 for urging LeBron James to return to Cleveland, seems to be at it again with another bold claim.

In a recent post on social media, Gotshall declared not just that James might come back to Cleveland but also suggested that he would be bringing his sons, Bronny James and Draymond Green, along for the ride. He somewhat confidently stated, “Hey everyone. I just learned that not only is LeBron coming back to Cleveland, but he’s also bringing Bronny and Draymond with him!” If that’s not enough, he suggested skeptics check his track record by searching for “Caroline’s Cupcakes + Revlon”—which he believes showcases his credibility.

He later told the Post that this is “still a rumor,” but the excitement is palpable.

It’s interesting to remember that Gotshall was the one who, just days before James officially declared he was returning to Cleveland after four seasons with the Miami Heat, had already dropped hints about it. Back on July 5, 2014, he posted on Facebook about a friend with ties to LeBron’s camp, saying, “His sources say he’s already called other current Cavaliers to spread the news.” He even cheekily added, “If this is true, and like everything else on the internet, take it with a grain of salt…”

This time around, Gotshall seems to be banking on lightning striking twice as James’s future with the Lakers looks uncertain. Reports suggest that the four-time NBA champ has indicated he’s considering playing elsewhere next season.

If we think about it, a return to Cleveland would mark James’ third chapter with the Cavaliers. Originally drafted first overall in 2003, he famously led them to their first NBA championship in 2016. However, the roster would be quite different now compared to 2014. The Cavaliers seem to be built around stars like Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, with James Harden likely making a return, too.

The inclusion of Bronny and Draymond really adds an interesting twist to the narrative. Bronny has spent the last couple of seasons playing with his dad in Los Angeles, making history as the first father-son duo in the NBA. Green, meanwhile, has been with the Warriors for his entire career and shares a close bond with James.
