Ex-NBA center Scot Pollard has surgery for heart transplant

Former NBA center and “Survivor” contestant Scott Pollard underwent a heart transplant, and his wife Dawn was successful. I wrote it in X’s post on Friday night.

“The surgery went well. They said my heart was big, strong and a perfect fit,” Dawn wrote on social media. “Now we move on to the important part of recovery.”

She also thanked donors like Pollard for being their “heroes.” He told the Indianapolis Star in January. I was told that I needed to find someone with a similar bone structure.

Pollard registered with three hospitals in search of a donor and was admitted to the ICU at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on February 7th. According to the Associated Pressand in a text to the outlet at the time, Pollard revealed, “I’ll stay here until I get a heart.”

Earlier on Friday, Dawn also shared a photo of Pollard, 49, with her shaved head on X, writing: “Scott wanted everyone to know he’s no longer hairy before his heart transplant, it’s time.” Yes!” he added in the caption.

“Please continue to pray for Scott, the surgeon, the donor and his family who have lost a loved one,” Dawn continued in her pre-surgery post, adding a repair heart emoji at the end. “This donor gave us the greatest gift of his life, and we are forever grateful.”

According to multiple reports, Pollard’s heart problems were caused by battling a virus in 2021, similar to the circumstances that led to her father Pearl’s death in 1991.
