Former NFL Linebacker Arrested in Human Trafficking Operation
According to the New York Post, Adarius Taylor, a former NFL linebacker, was among nearly 250 individuals arrested for trafficking activities in Florida. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office made the arrests.
Taylor, who played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well as various other teams, was arrested in Polk County. The sheriff’s office referred to the operation as “Damn it and investigate it.”
During the incident, Taylor was charged with soliciting prostitution after allegedly meeting a woman for sexual services. In an additional troubling detail, he reportedly had his six-year-old son in the car when he went into the residence.
A police officer posing as a prostitute caught Taylor in the act, prompting an investigation. Afterward, the child was taken into custody, and Taylor faced a new charge for felony child neglect.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd commented on the situation, suggesting that Taylor’s history as a linebacker may have contributed to reckless behavior. Taylor was eventually released after posting a $6,000 bond.
Taylor had played for the Carolina Panthers in 2014, and then spent several seasons with the Buccaneers from 2015 to 2018. He also had a stint with the Cleveland Browns and later played in the Canadian Football League.
