Former NFL running back Tevin Coleman and his wife Akira Coleman have shared a heartbreaking health update about their daughter Nazaneen.
The Colemans revealed in a video posted on social media Tuesday that the 6-year-old boy has sickle cell disease and was recently put on a ventilator.
The video showed Nazaneen spending time with her father at the hospital.
“A short story about the most resilient girl I know,” Akira captioned the post. instagram video. She then revealed that Nazaneen had recently been on a ventilator.

She also explained that her young daughter “couldn’t breathe on her own and needed a machine to expand her lungs so she could breathe. She also received her first blood transfusion.”
Akira praised the former Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers running back’s ability to remain calm in the face of devastating news. When Akira learned of her daughter’s recent health complications, she said she started hyperventilating.

“I was in and out of consciousness. Watching your child literally fight to breathe is an inexplicable emotion,” the caption continued. “Tevin managed to calm my spirit while controlling his own. I’m so sorry he didn’t leave room for action.”

Coleman previously opened up about her daughter’s health, revealing that she experienced symptoms of sickle cell anemia while playing for the Indiana Hoosiers football team.
