Ex-Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger rips NFL for Christmas games, unfavorable schedule

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a bind when it comes to a funky NFL schedule.

In the past, the NFL avoided Christmas games, but now they can't get enough of them and are scheduling two this year, even though it falls on a Wednesday.

That has led to some oddities in the NFL's schedule, with the Steelers being one of four teams that played last Saturday and now playing Wednesday. What exactly happened “one Sunday”?

In any case, the rest are on par with teams playing on Thursday after Sunday's game, but factoring in Saturday's scramble, it will be three games in 11 days for the Steelers, and former QB Ben Ross Lisberger is not happy about this.

“It's pathetic. It's a shame the league would do something like this. This just shows that it's all about money and this is how they can make more money and solve this problem. It shows that because it's not fair to the players.” Roethlisberger recently said:. “We want to talk about injuries and making the game safer and changing the kick-off rules to prevent hip-drop tackles and concussions, but instead we try to force our players to play the most violent game in the world. I wonder if he's there?'' Probably three games in 11 days means you don't have time to get fit and rest.''

This comment reflects Patrick Mahomes' feelings about the grueling schedule.

“It doesn't feel good,” Mahomes told reporters a few weeks ago. “You never want to play this many games in such a short amount of time. It's not good for your body. But at the end of the day, it's your job, it's your profession. You come to work and do it. I have to.”
