ATHENS, Greece – Greece’s Vice President and Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis told Breitbart News alone that President Donald Trump’s trade action against the Chinese Communist Party is difficult for most of the world, but is important to help the United States lead the West into a new era of prosperity.
“I believe in the West,” Georgiadis said in an exclusive interview in his office last week. “The West cannot survive without a strong US. The United States is the natural leader of the West. So, as a politician who believes in the West, the strong US is the strong West. The weak US is the weak West.
Georgiadis also said tariffs are “a very difficult decision” for all aspects, but Trump is trying to readjust the US economy after decades of decline. He said weaknesses facing the West in its supply chain have been exposed during the coronavirus pandemic.
“I believe tariffs are a very difficult decision and a very difficult decision for President Trump, Europe and everyone,” Georgiadis said. “But I know that the US deficit is huge. And because the US economy was on the way, it had a lot of problems. He had to make some radical decisions. In the pandemic crisis in Europe, we realised that all of our production lines were in Asia, in the very important production lines of our industry. During difficult times, we were not producing any key elements to produce the same thing in Europe.
Georgiadis also told Breitbart News that Trump’s comeback victory in the US to reclaim the White House last year was “surprising.” Georgiadis, now Greek Health Minister and vice president of the New Democrats of Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitotakis here, played many important roles during Mitotakis’ administration, dating back to 2019.
“First of all, as a politician, I have to say that this is a unique victory in political history,” Georgiadis said. “The way he returned is something politicians around the world try to study from there. Of course, he has run a very brave campaign against him in a very difficult environment for the majority of media. a Republican. Everybody knows this is where I stand. So we believe that as in his first term, Greece and the United States have an excellent relationship. You know big strategic partnerships between Greece and the United States started during President Trump’s first term in the White House. I had the honor as Minister of Finance and Development We believe in his second term, we will develop even better relationships as Greece and the United States have always been ally, always friends and longing to do things with President Trump and his government.”
In Greece, two vice presidents are helping to lead their governing party, the New Democracy. Another Kostis Hatzidakis is Deputy Prime Minister.

In an interview with Breitbart News at the Greek Ministry of Health office last week, Georgia asked if he had a specific message to President Trump last week, Georgiadis said Mitotakis would provide the US with an official government message.
“The message comes from Prime Minister Mitotakis. He always gives a message to our country,” Georgiadis said. “Personally, I would like to tell Trump that he recognizes the United States as a Western leader. I trust the United States for this leadership.”
Of course, Mitsotakis sat with Breitbart News in Athens in his office at Maximos Mansion, saying he believes the US and the European Union will soon be able to reach a trade deal. Mitsotakis’ interviews have dominated Greece and the international media since its publication by Breitbart News. This is because Trump himself praised Mitotakis in the White House and said he agreed to reach the deal. In the aftermath of the interview, Trump suspends new tariffs in all countries except China for 90 days, with European Union leader Ursula von der Leyen reflecting Mitotakis’ commentary and saying she believes she can reach a new trade deal with Trump.
Georgiadis reflected this sentiment in his comments on Breitbart News, saying he is confident that both sides can reach a deal.
“I am confident that Greece and our Prime Minister are doing their best to find the best and most reasonable partnership path for the European Union and the United States,” Georgiadis said. “The European Union and the United States are natural ally. Beyond the West, the European Union and the United States, there are times when good partners have discrepancies. Finally, we will reach a fair deal with both parties. I am totally confident in it.
In an interview with Breitbart News, Georgia said he believes the US and Greece can deepen their already strong economic ties during Trump’s second term in the White House.
“There’s a large portion of the big investment between Greece and the US, and there’s more to it,” Georgiadis said. “There’s a lot to do with Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Google and other high-tech industries. But I think there are a lot of possibilities in defense industries like shipyards. We already have a massive American investment in Greek shipyards through Onex. In this transformed world, the West West is very important. Here, democracy was born, so we are a strategic alliance of the Eastern Mediterranean. We are a trusted partner of the United States.”
Georgiadis described Imeec Corridor (short for moderate Eastern Europe Economic Protection in India) as a Western-led answer to the Belt and Road Initiative of China’s Community Party. The contract linked India through the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Israel, heading towards Cyprus towards Greece before Western Europe, then towards Western Europe.
“In recent years, we see China constructing its corridors in a very serious way, so we need an answer,” Georgiadis said. “In a way, the West was left behind. We have to find the answer, we have to find the answer as soon as possible.”
One of the key boards for Imeec’s success is the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Israel. As Saudi Arabia has not yet joined the Abraham Accord, Georgiadis told Breitbart News that Mitotakis worked to build ties with the Saudi government to achieve this broader economic ties.
“The Mitotakis government, and the Prime Minister himself, have developed very strong ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia throughout his first term now,” Georgiadis said. “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important country along this corridor, bringing in very fast business transactions from India to Europe and Europe to North America in a very fast way. Yes, this must be built as quickly as possible.”
Georgiadis also said he believes Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023 were motivated by Saudi Arabia’s efforts to join the Abraham Agreement.
“I really believe that Hamas’ terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023 were one of their biggest goals to thwart the Abraham Agreement,” Georgiadis said. “We in Greece support Israel 100%. Israel is a strategic partner in this field. Israel is a security in Greece. Israel’s security is the security in Greece. Israel’s security is the security in Greece, after these agreements, working together to see these agreements, 100% support is supported by kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms with kingdoms
That being said, Georgiadis said he is confident that Saudi Arabia will eventually return to the table with the Israelis.
“I’m sure they’ll come back,” Georgiadis said. “Leadership in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is also a very efficient leadership. The Crown Prince is a leader with a big vision of his country. The vision for 2030 is a unique vision. This shows a leader who truly understands the interests of his country and region.
