Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said Monday that Facebook is trying to silence her attempts to speak out about Jeffrey Epstein's “terrible sex trafficking ring.”
“Facebook is trying to silence me and prevent me from speaking out about Jeffrey Epstein's horrific sex trafficking ring. @metaBig Tech and the media have been trying to cover up his alleged abuses for years, and are even going so far as to censor a U.S. senator who wants to bring transparency to the American people,” Volunteer State conservatives wrote Monday night. on X (formerly Twitter).
Blackburn said his post asking Trump to “release Epstein's flight logs” was deemed clickbait, engagementbait, or anything else that could violate Facebook's content moderation policies. He shared a screenshot showing how it was flagged by Facebook as an option.
Another screenshot revealed that her posts would no longer be recommended by people, impacting the page's recommendation functionality and potentially reducing the page's distribution.
Facebook then suggested that her post be deleted.
Blackburn has been fighting for years to uncover Epstein's flight records to further reveal Epstein's human trafficking ring.
In early January, she told Breitbart News that she planned to pressure Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) to subpoena records related to Epstein. Mr. Blackburn is the ranking member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law. Durbin has previously rejected requests to subpoena Epstein's flight records.
She told Breitbart News: [Durbin] He submitted another letter asking the subcommittee to move forward with subpoena enforcement. Then we can hold the appropriate hearings so we can get the information we need to begin dismantling sex trafficking rings. ”
Blackburn described “sex trafficking” as “modern-day slavery” and explained that more needs to be revealed about the Epstein ring.
This is a criminal act. And what we need to know is what he was doing and what our relationship was with him. When he was observing these sex trafficking rings, what organizations was he working with? Was he connected to a cartel? We need Ghislaine Maxwell's Black Book. He has everything to do with it. How did she recruit them and break up some of the circles? And all of that is part of getting this information. And as the top Republican on the Human Rights Subcommittee, we have done a lot of work this year to investigate what is happening to children who are being recruited and fostered in virtual spaces or parts of them. I did. There children are groomed and then trafficked and some protections are put in place. Because this human trafficking, this sex trafficking, is modern day slavery.. And it is essential that some protection for women and children be put in place. [Emphasis added]
She added: “That's why it's important to be transparent about this. It was a large scale sex trafficking ring and it's going to be important to get to the bottom of it.”
