Father Shares Chick-fil-A Budget Hack for Families
A father has found a way for his family of five to dine at Chick-fil-A for under $45 using a clever sandwich “hack.” However, it’s important to note that prices can differ by location, raising concerns about overall affordability as food prices rise across the country.
Jeff Johnson, a worship pastor and podcaster based in Atlanta, shared his experience with his social media followers. He pointed out that it’s actually cheaper to buy nuggets and buns rather than ordering chicken sandwiches directly for himself, his wife, and their three kids.
In an Instagram video posted on June 26, Johnson explained, “Here’s a hack for all the dads out there who are always saying, ‘Why do you spend so much money on Chick-fil-A?'” He continues, suggesting that instead of each family member ordering a full meal, they could do something different. “And you need to know about this,” he said.
Johnson explained that he typically orders 30 nuggets for around $17 and breads with butter for only 25 cents each. He then showcased the family’s sandwich – essentially a piece of bread filled with a few nuggets.
While it allows for potential extras like sides or drinks, his approach seems to be an effective way for families to save money while eating out, especially during tough economic times. “Everybody’s happy, dad’s happy. We saved a lot of money. If you do what I say, you can eat a family of five at Chick-fil-A for less than $45,” he emphasized.
Pricing can vary significantly by restaurant, but a standard Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich usually ranges from $5 to $6, excluding any sides, drinks, and taxes.
Reaction to Johnson’s video was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenters expressing surprise at his budget-friendly method. One user noted, “Chick-fil-A is expensive. Good advice. Thank you,” while another quipped, “I didn’t need to know that 30 nuggets for one person was $17.”
In this age where costs can seem prohibitive, it’s little life hacks like these that offer some relief for families looking to enjoy dining out without breaking the bank. A few others chimed in with humor; one mentioned a potential “cease and desist letter” from Chick-fil-A, while another yearning for the classic pickles associated with the sandwiches added a lighthearted comment about their love for pickles.
