LeBron James Faces Lawsuit Over Hennessey Ad

LeBron James is now facing a lawsuit following his latest Hennessey advertisement. The NBA’s top scorer hinted at a significant “second decision” regarding his new signature bottle but teased the news the day prior, leading many to speculate that he was considering retirement.

After the teaser video dropped, a fan named Andrew Garcia purchased two tickets for a Lakers game against the Cavaliers—James’ former team—at around $432 each, as per Ticketmaster. Garcia later shared with TMZ Sports that he feels swindled, claiming he wouldn’t have bought the tickets if he knew James wasn’t retiring.

Garcia expressed that he believes James’s actions constituted “fraud, deception, misrepresentation,” and all other potential grounds for legal action. Interestingly, after the teaser was released, ticket prices nearly doubled, jumping from an average of $250 to about $500, with a massive surge in sales for the season’s final home game.

James’s representatives have not yet commented on the lawsuit. In his announcement, he stated it would be “the decider of all decisions,” creating buzz as he prepares for his unprecedented 23rd NBA season.

In a more recent conversation, James, now 40, seemed a bit less clear about his retirement timeline. He stated, “I’m excited for the opportunity to play the game I love for another season,” affirming his hard work and dedication without acknowledging a specific end date.

This past season, he performed remarkably well, averaging 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game. In fact, since turning 40, his scoring average has been an impressive 25.1 points per game, setting him apart as the oldest player to achieve such numbers.

James made history last season by being the first to play in the NBA while his son, Bronny James, also made his debut with the Lakers.
