Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump appears to be rapidly deteriorating.
This week, in an apparent act of desperation, Black Panther's daughter lashed out at his alleged lover, his wife Joycelyn Wade. In a court filing Thursday, Democratic lawyers accused Joycelyn Wade of trying to “obstruct” a controversial case against the Republican front-runner and damage Willis' reputation.
What is your background?
Willis on Jan. 8 after her disbarment motion, filed in court on behalf of one of President Trump's co-defendants, accused her of alleged misconduct and possible crimes. Problems began to grow for him. He also suggested there may have been coordination between President Biden and the Fulton County Attorney's Office regarding the case.
The motion specifically alleges that the Democratic prosecutor was involved in an “inappropriate and secret personal relationship” with Nathan Wade, who he ultimately hired to lead prosecutors in President Trump's election interference case. He blames the fact that he is a married lawyer, and that he is “profiting enormously from this.” She will be prosecuted at the expense of the taxpayers. ”
Wade used Fulton County funds received by his law firm to pay for lavish overseas and domestic vacations he allegedly took with Willis, according to the filing.
Ms. Willis has not yet explicitly denied the core allegations in her filing, but on Sunday, in front of God and a church-going audience, she claimed that she did not give preferential treatment to Mr. Wade, a claim that she completely denied. It doesn't seem true.
Willis' lawyer Andrea Hastings
repeated He told The Associated Press this week that any response to the allegations would come in a court filing, but that has not yet happened.
Ashley Merchant, the attorney who filed the motion on behalf of Michael Roman, hinted that there were additional important documents in the case file for Wade's divorce case, but the information was kept confidential until a judge unsealed it. He hinted that he would wait to share.

rise in fever
A process server sent by Joycelyn Wade, the Trump prosecutor's estranged wife, reportedly showed up at Willis' Atlanta office on January 8 with a subpoena. The subpoena called for Willis to testify at a Jan. 23 deposition in Nathan Wade's Cobb County divorce case.
The allegations in the disqualification motion could be of interest in an acrimonious divorce case. After all, according to filings, Nathan Wade (who has reportedly paid more than $650,000 in legal fees since January 2022) had a relationship with Willis before being appointed special counsel in the Trump case. They are said to have started a relationship. Wade reportedly did not file for divorce until the day after signing the deal with the Fulton County Attorney's Office.
The Jan. 23 deposition is not just about Willis.
On Thursday, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee scheduled a hearing for Feb. 15 to address damning charges of misconduct against Willis and ordered Willis to respond in writing to the charges by Feb. 2. Ta.

report Willis' lawyers argued in a Thursday filing that the subpoenas served on his office last week amounted to an “attempt to harass and damage” the reputation of the Democratic Party.
The complaint further alleges that Joycelyn Wade “conspired with interested parties in the criminal election interference case to use the civil discovery process to embarrass, embarrass, and suppress Willis.”
This isn't the first time Willis has painted himself as a victim in recent days.
Blaze News previously reported on her in action. Sunday's speech Addressing his congregation at Atlanta's Big Bethel AME Church, Willis characterized his concerns about possible injustice as a product of racial animus, calling himself a bigot chosen by God for greatness. I drew him as a warrior.
”[God,] You didn't tell me, a person of color, that it doesn't matter what I do. My motives, my talents, my abilities, and my character will always be under attack,” Willis said, adding, “We can't expect Black women to be perfect and save the world. We need to be allowed to stumble.”
Mr. Willis' lawyer, Cinque Axum, suggested in a filing Thursday that attempts to question Mr. Willis about the fraud allegations are “obstructing and obstructing” Mr. Trump's case.
“Ms. Willis alleges that she is being asked to give a deposition for the purpose of defaming and damaging her professional reputation,” Merchant said in a statement obtained by The Associated Press. Is there a risk of damaging its reputation?”
Merchant also suggested that the Democratic DA's office was trying to “invent a conspiracy that doesn't exist,” adding that the motion was filed just in time for the deadline for pretrial motions in election interference cases.
“We believe her application to Cobb County is simply an attempt to avoid having to directly answer the important questions raised by Mr. Roman,” Merchant wrote.
In addition to disparaging Mrs. Wade, Mr. Willis, in an email exchange this week, implied that at least one of the defense attorneys in the Georgia election interference case was a racist, saying, There may be some people who cannot respect you,” he wrote.
Stephen Sadow, Mr. Trump's chief lawyer in Georgia, has been pressuring Mr. Willis' team after the latter's team did not respond to his emails. In response, District Attorney Daysha Young, who works in Willis' office, said that she and Willis both understand that “especially as African-American women, some people find it difficult to treat us with respect.'' “I am aware of it,” the Times reported.
“Some in the legal profession (and the world at large) may not respect African Americans and women as equals,” Willis wrote.
