Cowboys’ Humbling Loss to Bears Sparks Criticism

The Cowboys should really be feeling embarrassed after their disappointing 31-14 defeat to the Bears on Sunday.

This was the sentiment shared by ESPN’s Damien Woody on Monday’s “Get Up,” as he and co-host Ryan criticized Dallas for a poor defensive performance in Chicago, now sitting at 1-2 this season.

“When you face this Dallas Cowboys defense, gaining confidence is almost too easy,” Woody remarked.

He further highlighted the Bears’ offensive play, especially during a commanding 19-play drive that ended with them scoring 17 points.

Woody didn’t hold back: “They don’t respect the coaches or the players on that side. It’s just embarrassing to see the Bears run through the Cowboys’ defense like that. If you’re Dallas, you should feel humiliated this morning.” He emphasized that the Bears made it clear how they intend to play football.

Cowboys’ defense is currently struggling, particularly without their star edge rusher. Mika Parsons was traded to the Packers, following a lengthy contract dispute. According to ESPN, the Cowboys have allowed a staggering 92 points across their first three games, marking one of the worst performances in the franchise’s history.

Ryan remarked on the situation, indicating that the defensive unit under coordinator Matt Evals seems to perform even worse than expected. He questioned how the situation could get any more embarrassing, noting the Bears’ 11 consecutive plays during one drive.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys need to shake off this defeat quickly as they prepare to face the Packers in this week’s “Sunday Night Football.” Like Dallas, Green Bay is also eager to move on from a challenging start to the season.
