The horrific rape of a 13-year-old girl in a Queens park is the fault of President Biden’s disastrous open border policies, the girl’s distraught father told The Washington Post.
“This is what happens when illegal immigration enters the United States unchecked,” her father said, a week after his daughter was allegedly raped by illegal immigrant from Ecuador, Cristian Giovanni Inga Landi.
“I’ve never been in favor of an open borders policy because it just lets in a ton of stuff we don’t need,” said the 70-year-old father, whose name was withheld by The Washington Post to protect his daughter’s identity. “And look what got in. Look what happened to my daughter.”
Inga Lundy, 25, who crossed the border from Texas in 2021 and was ordered deported by an immigration judge in New York City last February, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of luring a girl and a teenage boy at knifepoint into a wooded area of Kesina Park on June 13, binding and gagging them and raping the girl in broad daylight.
His father said his family have been “going through hell” since the despicable attack.
“My world has been turned upside down, and the healing process hasn’t even begun. Right now, my heart is swirling with anger,” he said by phone Thursday from his Flushing home.
When asked about his daughter’s condition, he simply said: “I can’t imagine it, so let’s just leave it at that.”
Inga Lundy’s arrest after five days on the run is “definitely a relief,” her father said.
“Obviously it’s very devastating for our family, but it’s great that she’s here now because we can move on and focus on other things,” he said.
The father praised the good Samaritan who subdued the suspect and handed him over to police.
“If it was someone else’s child, I would have done the same thing. I definitely would have done it. Without hesitation,” he said.
“We don’t need people walking around, driving or riding bikes looking for places where they can become predators.”
The situation would have been even worse if the girl’s father, even though he was still young, had also caught Inga Landi.
“Especially when you have a child who has been brutally assaulted, my instinct is … I’m glad I never had to meet this man,” the father said.
Inga Lundy, who was already charged with immigration offences, chillingly admitted at her arraignment on Wednesday that she had videotaped the assault.
A judge ordered him held without bail on charges of rape, predatory sexual assault, kidnapping and numerous other felony charges.
According to sources and a January police report, Inga Lundy already had a history of violence against women.
According to police sources, he was in a child custody battle with his ex-wife on Jan. 1, 2024. He had dropped off the couple’s two children at the 24-year-old woman’s Queens home when Ingalandy tried to confront her new lover.
He left after police were called, and the woman told police that Ingalandy had beaten her while she was pregnant and that she feared for her children’s safety when he was around, sources said.
