Father of NBA Star Charged with Attempted Murder

The father of Jalen Brown, an All-Star player for the Boston Celtics, has been charged with attempted murder following an incident involving a youth soccer coach in Las Vegas. This reportedly stemmed from a dispute over parking on Wednesday.

Quenton Marcels Brown, 57, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on Thursday. After a brief court appearance, his bail was set at $300,000.

The Metropolitan Police Department in Las Vegas reported that the conflict escalated shortly after 5 PM. According to available information, one individual was stabbed in the stomach and required surgery at a local hospital. Another person was taken into custody at the scene.

Witnesses shared that tensions flared when passengers of an SUV parked next to the victim’s car opened the door and hit it. This prompted the victim to step out and check for damage, where he was confronted by the driver, identified as Brown. The argument became heated, and it was noted that the victim’s girlfriend witnessed her partner slap the SUV’s side mirror.

As the verbal fight escalated, the situation turned physical. Witnesses reported that Brown pulled out an “unknown object” and stabbed the victim in the back, with one observer indicating that the suspect struck the victim multiple times with the knife.

Following the altercation, the victim and his girlfriend, who are both youth football coaches, managed to drive themselves to safety and waited for authorities. Medical reports indicate the victim suffered several stab wounds, affecting his back and collarbone.

Brown’s attorney claimed that he acted in self-defense, suggesting that he was attacked first. Online records indicate that a court date is scheduled for the following Tuesday.
