Toledo Family’s Disturbing Encounter with Impersonator
On a Saturday afternoon in Toledo, Ohio, a family faced an alarming situation when an unknown man allegedly walked up to their front door claiming to be a police officer.
“He came through the alley and tried to get inside,” Stephen Aranda recounted during an interview. It was indeed frightening. His young daughter confronted the man, saying, “What are you doing? You don’t belong here.” In response, the man insisted he was with the Toledo police.
Aranda described his immediate reaction: “I threw him to the ground, slammed him into the concrete, and punched him.”
According to police, the man identified as Parker Jackson, 33, claimed he needed to check on the children inside the house. However, Aranda noted that he didn’t look like a legitimate police officer. A police report also indicated that Jackson did not show any identification that could validate his claims.
Worried about her kids’ safety, Aranda decided to take action. “I held him down until the police arrived,” she explained, sharing how she acted out of concern.
Jackson suffered visible injuries during the altercation, as his arrest photo revealed swelling and a cut above his eye. The police report mentioned that he showed signs of intoxication when officers arrived and was found with several cans of Milwaukee’s Best Iced Beer. He admitted to opening the front door and pretending to be a law enforcement officer.
Jackson has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including aggravated trespass and impersonating a police officer. The judge has mandated that he stay away from the family and set his bail at $1,500.
Aranda expressed that her four children were left shaken by the encounter. “They’re a bit scared now; they haven’t played outside for days,” he mentioned. “It’s important for everyone to be aware of their surroundings.”
Jackson is still in custody at the Lucas County Jail, awaiting further proceedings.
