FBI Investigates Shooting at ICE Facility in Phoenix
This week, the FBI began looking into an incident at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Arizona where gunshots were fired at the building. A video from FOX 10 Phoenix reveals the aftermath, showing significant damage after an unknown individual shot multiple times at the structure.
The FBI’s Phoenix Field Office confirmed on Tuesday that they are investigating the shooting incident that took place at the Force Removal Operations Building situated on North Central Avenue in Phoenix.
At least one shooter has been reported, targeting the exterior of the building, though thankfully, no injuries have been noted.
In a related development, ICE recently announced that a police officer fatally shot an undocumented immigrant in Houston who attempted to run him over.
Officials from ICE informed Fox News that the building’s windows sustained multiple bullet holes. The FOX 10 Phoenix team captured footage showcasing the visible damage at the scene.
The FBI’s statement clarified that the incident on July 14, 2026, involved one or more unidentified individuals firing shots at various parts of the building’s exterior, again confirming that no injuries occurred as a result.
This shooting incident comes amid an announcement from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), stating that all ICE arrest teams will now be required to wear body cameras. This decision follows a troubling increase in assaults against ICE personnel.
DHS reported that attacks against ICE officers have surged by over 1,300%, while vehicular assaults have skyrocketed more than 3,300%.
Interestingly, it has been reported that the ICE agent involved in the Houston shooting was not equipped with a body camera.
In response, a DHS spokesperson emphasized the importance of body camera usage, particularly in light of the sharp rise in violence against law enforcement. “Equipping all ICE law enforcement officers nationwide with body cameras is a top priority for DHS,” they stated.
The spokesperson added that this is vital, especially as “media and sanctuary politicians consistently spread misinformation about our nation’s law enforcement agencies.”
The FBI is urging anyone who may have information regarding the shooting to reach out to their investigators by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or by visiting tips.fbi.gov.
As of now, the motives behind the shooting in Phoenix are unclear, and no suspect information has been shared publicly.
