FBI makes additional arrests following protests by anti-ICE activists at Cities Church

Attorney General Pam Bondi has revealed that an additional 25 individuals have been arrested following the assault on Cities Church by protestors against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) last month.

“Today, we unsealed an indictment for 30 more individuals involved in the attack on Cities Church in Minnesota,” Bondi announced. “At my instruction, federal agents have already arrested 25 people, with more arrests expected today.”

She emphasized, “Attacking places of worship is unacceptable. If you try, you won’t be able to hide. We will find you, arrest you, and bring you to justice. The Department of Justice supports Christians and all Americans of faith.”

FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the recent arrests under the FACE Act reflect the agency’s commitment to protecting those peacefully exercising their right to worship. “So far, 39 people have faced indictments for their participation in the January 18 attack on Cities Church,” Patel added. “We’re grateful for the efforts of the FBI Minneapolis team and appreciate the collaboration with HSI and Attorney General Bondi.”

The incident on January 18 involved anti-ICE activists storming the church, protesting federal immigration enforcement. Protestors were recorded shouting references regarding a shooting incident involving federal agents.

In response, the Trump administration initiated an investigation, viewing the protest as a possible violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. Several arrests have occurred since the investigation commenced.

Among those arrested was former CNN anchor Don Lemon, who allegedly entered the church and spoke with the pastor, Jonathan Purnell. The pastor condemned the disruption, saying, “This is unacceptable. It’s shameful to interrupt a gathering of Christians during worship.” Lemon now faces charges related to conspiracy and violations of the FACE Act, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

This situation is still unfolding, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
