Democratic New York Mayor Eric Adams confronted a fellow passenger on a flight returning to the city from Miami on Monday, video showed.
A video posted on Twitter shows Adams sitting in a middle row seat looking at his phone as a passenger approaches. (Related: Officials clash with pro-Palestinian NYU protesters, suspected arrests)
“Are you Eric Adams?” a passenger asked, and Adams nodded in response. “Yes, damn it! You support genocide in Palestine. There are homeless people all over New York. [but] You’re always partying. You don’t actually care about New Yorkers. ”
A man sitting next to Adams in the aisle seat appeared to try to stop the passenger from yelling at the Democratic mayor. Despite this, the passenger continues to scream at Adams, who says that all she cares about is “defunding the police,” and then the passenger behind her says that she is I told her I was stopping the line.

“Why are you in Miami?” the passenger says in the video. “You know in New York, people are getting arrested, people are homeless, they can’t afford to eat, and yet they keep cutting the education budget to defund the police. All you care about is funding the police. Everything is underfunded because of you.”
Since last week, tensions have continued to rise in the city due to pro-Palestinian protesters, as activists gathered at Columbia University on April 17th. Protests continued over the weekend, prompting other activists to gather on school campuses across the country, including Yale University and the University of California. Berkeley. Hundreds of people were arrested after clashes between New York City police authorities and New York University protesters on Monday night.
