A federal investigation into Karen Reed's murder has been shut down, prosecutors confirmed Tuesday.
The federal government was investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of Reed's boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe in 2022, but it's unclear what they were seeing.
News that a federal investigation that may be considering possible police concealment has been shut down appeared at Read's ongoing murder hearing in Dedham, Massachusetts.
“There are no more federal investigations into the investigation into John O'Keefe's death or related issues,” Special Counsel Hank Brennan said. According to a report from CBS News. “It's closed. It's finished.”
Brennan made the announcement as he asked Judge Beverly Canone to issue a gag order governing Reid's attorney as he pushed law enforcement allegations.
