A 43-year-old former U.S. lawyer for the Eastern District of Virginia was found dead on Saturday morning.
The circumstances of her death are being investigated by the Virginia Chief Inspector’s office, with no cause given.
A report was received at 9:18am about a woman found unresponsive on the 900 block of Beverly Drive, and police responded to the scene.Abber began her role as a U.S. lawyer in 2009, moving on to become an attorney general for the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice from 2015-2016 and eventually deputy chief of the EDVA’s criminal division.In 2021, she was appointed by former President Biden and confirmed unanimously by the Senate for her position. She resigned in January 2021 when President Trump took office.Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares paid tribute to Aber on his social platform X:
