A 24-year-old woman has been charged with stabbing to death a U.S. postal worker on duty at a Harlem deli Thursday afternoon. WABC TV reported. The two appeared to have been arguing over who gave the order first before the altercation turned physical, New York City police said.
Harlem's Jaire Cruz charged with second-degree murder, police say told WPIX-TV.
“She's a nice young woman. She's not the type to just go out on the street and attack people.”
Ray Hodges, 36, of the Bronx, was working as a mail carrier when he went for lunch. Joe's Grocery at 168 Lenox Avenue around 2:30 p.m., police told WPIX.
Police told WPIX that while Cruz was waiting to pay, they got into an argument over who was next in line, and Cruz is accused of stabbing Hodges seven times. He added that there is.
According to WABC, police found Hodges inside the facility with multiple stab and slash wounds to his torso, arms, back and neck.
Hodges was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, WABC said, adding that the weapon had been recovered.
Investigators told WPIX that witnesses identified the suspect near the crime scene.

Postal worker Kathy Singleton told WABC that Hodges was “a nice young man.”
