Female high school Spanish teacher arrested, charged with ‘unlawful sexual intercourse’ with student: ‘Truly unfortunate’

The latest teacher sex scandal is said to involve a Spanish instructor from a high school who has been accused of having an “inappropriate relationship” with a former California student.

Deputies with the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office arrested Dals Flores, a 33-year-old teacher from Riverbank, at his home Tuesday. Police say Flores is charged with one count of illegal sex with a minor.

“It's truly a shame that our district will face this situation.”

Flores was booked at Stanislaus County Jail and was held on $20,000 bail.

Police said the “investigation of allegations of inappropriate relationships with former students” began after receiving tips from third parties.

Posts Facebook Page “The investigation began after school officials received information about the relationship from another party. Investigators are working to determine the facts of the case before arresting them,” Riverbank Police Services said.

Modest Bee Flores reported that he had an illegal relationship with a 17-year-old male student in 2023.

Riverbank Police Services said Flores has been a Spanish language teacher at Riverbank High School since 2016.

The Riverbank Unified School District said in a statement that Flores was on vacation while the incident was being investigated. The school district said it is working with authorities.

Riverbank Police Services thanked Riverbank Unified Schuliidection for its cooperation “quick reporting” and “helped in determining the circumstances of the secret litigation.”

The district said it had contacted the families of students who enrolled in Flores classes to minimize “teaching disruption for the rest of the school year.”

Riverbank Unified School District emphasized that it uses strict employment practices and “we only look forward to the best in staff quality and professionalism.”

“It is truly unfortunate that our district will face this situation. While continuing to work with law enforcement, the district will also ask to determine the options available to address this issue independently,” Coach Constanno Aguilar said in a press release.

According to Modesto Bee, Flores is the second riverbank high school to be arrested in the past two years, allegedly having sexual relations with a student.

Logan Navose, a former school teacher and girls' basketball coach — has been accused of inappropriate sexual relationships with a 16-year-old student from 2017 to 2018.

Reports of alleged illegality emerged when Riverbank High School staff contacted the sheriff's office in December 2023.

Nabors was arrested and charged with unlawful intercourse between a minor and oral mating. KCRA-TV.
