A female New York Police Department officer was left with a bloody face during an altercation with a repeat offender on probation on Thursday.
The incident happened in the Bronx, and neighbors watched as the suspect punched an officer and fell to the ground. New York Post Reported Friday. Minutes later, fellow officers caught up with the suspect and arrested him.

The 41-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of punching a female officer who was trying to break up an altercation between him and several young people at the corner of Rosedale and Randall streets, according to authorities and police sources.
However, the officer’s partner managed to grab the suspect and other officers assisted the injured officer.
Video footage show The man helped the female officer up from the ground, while bystanders watched as another officer tried to subdue the suspect, who then appeared to punch him in the face in an attempt to restrain him.
As the pair violently resisted, the suspect’s trousers were pulled down, exposing his buttocks, and onlookers continued to laugh and scream as officers handcuffed him.
Meanwhile, two people are seen at the scene picking up the injured female police officer.

She suffered a cut to her lip and was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and listed in stable condition. post The article continues:
The suspect, identified as Ernst Delmas, was charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, according to the New York Police Department.

According to law enforcement sources, Delmas, who is on probation, has numerous arrests over the past few years, including assault and theft.
According to Breitbart News, a suspect approached an NYPD officer from behind and hit him in the head with a bottle in April 2023. The suspect in this case had been arrested 11 times before.
The outlet reported in June 2023 that NYPD officers had suffered 32% more injuries so far this year compared to 2022.
