Correctional Officer Charged with Affair with Inmate

A correctional officer at a federal prison in New Jersey has been charged for engaging in a sexual relationship with an inmate. This affair reportedly involved another inmate being paid to act as a lookout during their encounters, which has raised significant concerns among federal authorities.

Jordan Pensack, who worked at the Federal Correctional Facility in Fort Dix, was issued a criminal summons by the FBI on Monday, charged with having sexual relations with a male inmate on January 8th, as reported by NJ.com.

Interestingly, investigators found that this relationship had been ongoing for more than a year, and, at one point, other corrections officers even joked that the inmate might have gotten her pregnant.

The charges indicate that starting in 2024, Pensack had multiple sexual encounters with an inmate in a prison office. The inmate involved reportedly paid fellow inmates to keep watch for corrections officers during these meetings.

Throughout their communications, the inmate exchanged over 100 explicit messages, photos, and videos with Pensack, who hinted in her texts that she was married, according to related court documents.

Following the seizure of the inmate’s personal cell phone, texts emerged in which Pensack allegedly confessed to the relationship. In January, she mentioned that this had been going on “for the past year.” She also expressed awareness of the criminal implications, admitting in a February message that she had been with an inmate and even “got high” while at work in 2025.

Federal agents recovered two contraband cell phones from inmates, which contained many explicit exchanges with Pensack, along with more than 100 intimate images shared between them.

By January of this year, Pensack was reportedly concerned about a possible pregnancy and sent an email to a former inmate, inquiring, “Your period is three days late. Are you ready to become an uncle?” She added a rather bewildering thought: “What if the baby is black and the husband is white and Korean?!”

Authorities obtained a search warrant for the inmate’s Instagram account and discovered that they had been openly discussing their relationship and expressing their affection for each other between August 2025 and January 2026. Furthermore, investigators also looked into additional communications between Pensack and other inmates regarding this situation.

The Federal Correctional Facility at Fort Dix is a low-security institution situated within Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, housing approximately 4,000 male inmates.

Pensack was due to appear in federal court in Camden on Tuesday afternoon, and inquiries have been made to both the Federal Bureau of Prisons and FCI Fort Dix for further comments on this shocking case.
