Fetterman Challenges Platner on Allegations
Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania has called on Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner to prove that he did not send inappropriate messages to minors. Fetterman stated that he would “wear a suit every day in the Senate” if Platner could clear his name.
During an appearance with Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany, Fetterman was questioned about his past comments regarding Platner. He mentioned that Platner has a chance to “clear the record” about some messages sent during the early years of his marriage.
“You made an interesting proposal. You said, ‘Let’s strike a deal.’ You mentioned that you’d wear a suit daily if he releases all the emails and messages with those women,” McEnany noted. “Has he reached out regarding this?”
“No, I haven’t heard anything from him,” Fetterman responded. “But it’s strange because back in April, during an interview, he called me ‘the bane of his existence’ over my attire. Now, I’m thinking, ‘Here’s your chance, Platner. Just prove these people you were sending those messages to are all over 18, and I’ll start dressing up for work.’
Fetterman further stated, “Now I’m ready to present all our texts and conversations from when we were newlyweds, right before I started my Senate campaign.”
Comments regarding Platner revealed that his wife had acknowledged his sending of explicit messages to various women early in their marriage. Reports indicated that Platner had a “active account on Kik,” a well-known private messaging platform.
His account photo was described as a selfie in which he appeared shirtless, holding a towel around his waist. Additionally, three women who had been involved with Platner mentioned a “pattern of heavy drinking and womanizing” in their past experiences with him.
One of the women, Lindsay Fifield, recounted that during a disagreement, Platner allegedly “forced her into the bedroom and shut the door.” While she mentioned that he might have been aggressive, she clarified that Platner “never” physically struck her.
