Fetterman Ditches Harvard Graduation Hood in Protest at Antisemitism

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) publicly doffed his Harvard graduation cap on Wednesday during a commencement speech at Yeshiva University, a Jewish religious institution in New York.

Fetterman, who earned a master’s in public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School in 1999, has become one of the few staunch supporters of Israel within the Democratic Party in the months since the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks.

Yeshiva University Awarded Fetterman was awarded the Presidential Medal, the school’s highest honor.

But his speech was perhaps even more remarkable, reflecting his disgust at Harvard’s failure to confront anti-Semitism during months of protests, with the university caving in to anti-Israel student demands and a commencement speaker spewing anti-Semitic rhetoric from the podium at his graduation ceremony.

Ash Deleted “Today I was deeply disappointed in Harvard’s failure to stand up for the Jewish community. I personally don’t think it’s fundamentally right to wear it today,” Fetterman told the Yeshiva University audience.

Fetterman received a standing ovation from attendees.
