Fetterman says ‘F— that’ amid bipartisan backlash over arrest warrants targeting Israel’s Netanyahu, Gallant

A bipartisan backlash erupted following news that the First Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) had targeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Job Gallant with arrest warrants.

The court issued arrest warrants for the two men for “crimes against humanity and war crimes,” according to the ICC.

Sen. John Fetterman, Democrat of Pennsylvania. In the wake of the heinous Hamas terrorist attack on the Jewish state on October 7, 2023, the fervent supporter of Israel responded to the ICC's move in a post about There is no such thing.'' That's it. ” He concluded his tweet with an Israeli flag emoji.

Rep. Ritchie Torres of New York accused the ICC of ignoring the context of Israel's war effort launched by U.S. allies in response to the horrific attack on October 7 last year. During the attack, Hamas terrorists committed atrocities including rape, murder, and kidnapping.

“The ICC’s decision to issue an arrest warrant against Israeli leadership represents the most egregious weaponization of international law. The ICC has set a precedent that criminalizes self-defense. “Shields will face persecution in the guise of prosecution,” Torres declared in a post on X.

“The ICC ignores the causes and circumstances of the war. Israel did not start the war. The war was imposed on Israel on October 7th by the unbridled brutality of Hamas. “Since the Holocaust, we have carefully constructed battlefields to maximize the loss of civilian life,” he continued.

“None of that context seems to matter to the ICC's kangaroo court. The ICC cannot let facts get in the way of an ideological movement against the Jewish state. The ICC should be sanctioned only if it enforces the law. “It is not a matter of concern, but an unrecognizable distortion of the law,'' the lawmaker concluded.

“Enough of this dangerous legislation against Netanyahu and Israel. @SenSchumer passed in my bipartisan (42 Democrats) House,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) said in a post. “We must stop blocking the Senate from voting on the ICC sanctions bill.” , #HR8282, vote now!

Torres was one of dozens of House Democrats who voted for passage of the bill earlier this year.
