After speaking with Representative Elise Stefanik (R-New York), Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) reaffirmed his support for her nomination as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
“@EliseStefanik always had a firm YES attitude, but it was a pleasure to have a conversation with her. I look forward to holding the @UN accountable for its blatant anti-Israel views,” Fetterman said in a post about X.
The senator made the comment as he retweeted Stefanik, who shared a photo of Helev and Fetterman giving a thumbs up to the camera.

“Thank you @SenFettermanPA for hosting a very productive meeting to discuss our shared determination to stand with Israel and combat anti-Semitism,” Stefanik said in the post.
“Senator Fetterman shared his ideas on strong national security leadership and I highlighted my ideas on implementing the America First Peace national security agenda through the strength of President @realDonaldTrump.” Stefanik added.
Last month, President-elect Donald Trump announced that he would select Stefanik as the United States' ambassador to the United Nations.

Fetterman described Stefanik and Sen. Marco Rubio, Trump's nominees for secretary of state, as “serious and qualified individuals,” and said last month he would vote to confirm them.

Fetterman indicated he was open to supporting confirmation after President Trump nominated Dr. Mehmet Oz, who lost to Fetterman in the 2022 Pennsylvania Senate race, to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. .
