Fifth arrest in Turtle Island Liberation Front New Year's Eve bombing case identified as transgender former marine

A fifth individual has been apprehended in connection with a bombing scheme tied to a far-left group, and this person is a transgender Marine veteran. Allegations suggest they attempted to force ICE agents to “reenact Waco,” as revealed in a criminal complaint made public on Tuesday.

Micah James Regnon, 29, was taken into custody in Louisiana on Saturday. They are suspected of planning to use pipe bombs against businesses and ICE agents, having participated in discussions with alleged members of the Turtle Island Liberation Front, a far-left organization, according to FBI investigations.

In these online discussions, Regnon, known as “Kateri the Witch” and “Dark Witch She/Her,” appeared to strategize an attack in New Orleans that would align with plans for attacks in Southern California.

During a raid on Regnon’s residence in New Iberia, agents reportedly uncovered a sniper training manual, a SWAT manual, an assault rifle, and several rounds of ammunition, alongside images of an assault rifle and a bulletproof vest shared by the suspect.

In a Facebook post on December 4, Regnon described Border Patrol agents as “masked assholes,” expressing, “Time to reenact Waco Texas with these motherfuckers. Fuck you.” The FBI interpreted this as a threat referencing the deadly 1993 Waco siege involving David Koresh’s followers, which resulted in multiple fatalities.

Regnon is currently being held at the Iberia Parish Jail for alleged intimidation related to interstate commerce.

The complaint indicates that Regnon is a “former combat trained Marine” who now uses different pronouns. Additionally, they have a background as a police officer and have been identified as part of the so-called Trantifa militant group, according to unnamed sources.

Andy Go, an expert on Antifa, noted that Regnon’s social media activity was rife with calls for violence against those labeled as “fascists.”

Further investigations in California uncovered signs reading “Death to America,” “Death to ICE,” and “Long live Turtle Island and Palestine,” officials revealed on Monday.

The Turtle Island Liberation Front is described as “pro-Palestinian, anti-law enforcement, and anti-government.” They reportedly engage in fundraising aimed at fostering “revolutionary change in government,” as cited by an FBI agent in an affidavit involving Regnon’s alleged accomplice.

Prosecutors pointed out TILF’s claim that they oppose individuals who think that liberalism and peaceful protest suffice, stating that they believe “direct action is the only way out.”

Four other members—Audrey Carroll, 30; Zachary Page, 32; Dante Garfield, 24; and Tina Rai, 41—were arrested in Los Angeles after allegedly being filmed testing homemade explosives in the Mojave Desert, according to the FBI’s announcement on Monday.

Page, another transgender individual, is reportedly requesting a transfer to a women’s facility.

Investigators also linked these individuals to a TILF splinter cell known as the Order of the Black Lotus, which coordinated the New Year’s Eve plot dubbed “Operation Midnight Sun.” This scheme involved planting bomb-laden backpacks at businesses in Los Angeles, detailed in a handwritten plan found during the investigation.

While searching in California, officials discovered additional signs proclaiming “Death to America,” “Death to ICE,” and “Long Live Turtle Island and Palestine.”

The name of the extremist group, TILF, is derived from “Turtle Island,” a term used by several Indigenous groups to refer to North America.
