Final decision on Iran expected in the next two weeks

Trump’s Decision on Iran Actions Expected Soon

According to a spokesperson from the White House, President Donald Trump is likely to reveal his decision regarding potential military action against Iran within the next two weeks.

During a press conference on Thursday, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt indicated that the president would soon address potential measures concerning Iran.

“We will decide whether to pursue action within the next two weeks as there exists a significant opportunity for negotiations that may or may not unfold with Iran soon,” Leavitt read from Trump’s statement.

Leavitt also mentioned, “If there’s a chance for diplomacy, he’s willing to take it.”

On Wednesday, President Trump stated that Iranian officials had shown interest in meeting at the White House to discuss a possible agreement.

This potential deal would require Iran to cease all uranium enrichment activities and ensure that Tehran is permanently restricted from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Reports suggest that Israel’s ambitions extend beyond just disabling nuclear capabilities; they also seek to undermine the influence of Supreme Leader Khamenei amid unrest within Iran fueled by economic troubles, internet outages, and rising protests.

On June 19, Presidents Xi Jinping of China and Vladimir Putin of Russia jointly asserted that “there is no military solution,” condemning Israeli attacks on Iran. They emphasized that resolutions must come from political and diplomatic efforts. Xi additionally urged influential nations to help de-escalate the situation and called for a ceasefire.

Furthermore, on June 16, Foreign Ministers from France, Germany, and the UK were involved in significant discussions with Iran, encouraging the nation to resume nuclear negotiations and advocating for de-escalation to prevent further conflict.
