Concert goers got more than they bargained for Saturday at the Coachella Music Festival when fireworks were set off into the air and ignited a palm tree near the crowd.
The dramatic moment was caught on camera by a concertgoer, revealing the chaos that unfolded at the end of Green Day’s set in Indio, California. A fireworks display initially appeared to go off as planned, safely distanced from the crowd — but one firework veered off course and shot directly toward the audience. The footage showed a palm tree catching fire, prompting firefighters to rush in.
As the situation escalated, event staff could be heard urging the crowd to evacuate, shouting, “Everybody out, please!” while attendees scrambled to clear the area.
