Firearms enforcement officers swarmed a hotel in Leicestershire over the weekend after reports of a man with a large knife – which turned out to be Harry Potter’s wand.
The mix-up occurred at a large hotel in Enderby, near Leicester, after police were called to reports of a person with a knife near the lift.
A number of police attended the scene, and it was discovered that the weapon in question was actually a wand belonging to a Harry Potter fan.
In an update to the local force’s Facebook page on Sunday, an officer said: “This morning we responded to a large hotel in Enderby after receiving reports of a man inside with a ‘large knife’ near the elevator. Firearms enforcement officers and others were present.”
“After enquiry, we quickly confirmed that it was a Harry Potter fan with a wand. Fortunately, no residents were harmed and there was no sign of ‘Voldemort.’ [sic]”
