A passenger on one plane apparently tried to sit 27 rows in front of his assigned seat, a daring move that didn't go unnoticed by other travelers.

Recently, Reddit users took to the subreddit thread r/AmericanAirlines to discuss the moment that garnered people's reactions.

The user said in the post that people often try to act “annoying” on airplanes, but on this American Airlines flight, passengers were “laughing out loud.”

Rosalinda Randall, a California-based etiquette expert, told Fox News Digital that “reserved seats do not come with the option to move to a priority seat.”

“People are becoming more bold in adopting what they want and expecting others to back down,” she said, adding, “Being polite requires a lot of self-control, listening. You have to lean back and breathe a deep sigh of disbelief.”

If you find yourself in a similar situation, Randall recommends first double-checking your boarding pass to make sure you're in the right place and asking a fellow passenger or flight attendant for help if the situation escalates.

On the other side, Randall said, you should never expect someone to “accept your story or your reason for sitting at the table.”
