A Florida high school teacher is in trouble after students report seeing a video he allegedly posted on social media. expose oneself while at school.
Police arrested Wesley Alvarez, 45, on Monday at Ronald W. Reagan Doral High School in Doral.
Students told officials that Alvarez exposed himself in a video that appeared to be taken in front of a mirror inside the school. They saw it on the SnapChat video app.
“This is his video,” student Michael Granados told WPLG-TV. “He was stroking himself and touching himself on camera. I think he posted it in one of the teacher’s bathrooms.”
The teacher was wearing the same clothes as the person seen in the social media video, according to the crime report.
“He was wearing the exact same shirt that day. Everything was exactly the same,” Granados said.
A district spokesperson issued a statement regarding the allegations.
“Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) is aware that a video of this individual has been circulating on social media,” the statement reads. “As soon as the District became aware of these disturbing allegations, an investigation was initiated and the individual was subsequently arrested. The type of conduct he is accused of will not be tolerated. As such, his employment with the District has been terminated. We intend to exclude him from future employment with M-DCPS.”
Alvarez was charged with felony pornography over this charge and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
The judge set Alvarez’s bail at $7,500 and ordered him to stay away from children while the case is pending.
