Florida Man Arrested for DUI After Speeding
A man from Florida was taken into custody on DUI charges after being pulled over for driving over 90 mph on Interstate 75 in Pasco County. Officers discovered numerous open alcohol containers in his car during the stop, as reported by authorities.
The traffic stop happened near the 280 mile marker while the Florida Highway Patrol trooper was patrolling northbound. A Honda Civic sped past the police vehicle, prompting the officer to intervene, eventually identifying the driver as 33-year-old Connor William Paradis, a resident of San Antonio, Florida.
During the interaction, officers noted that Paradis seemed to be significantly intoxicated. They found 34 open containers of alcohol in his vehicle, which led to a DUI investigation.
Following his arrest, Paradis was taken to the Pasco County Jail. According to officials, his blood alcohol level registered at 0.177, well above Florida’s legal limit of 0.08 for drivers.
Public records indicate that he was booked into the jail, although it’s not clear if he has secured legal representation yet. Under Florida law, first-time DUI offenders could face fines, probation, community service, and potential license suspension — but the exact penalties will depend on the case’s outcome.
A Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson has not yet responded to inquiries for further details. Fortunately, no injuries resulted from the incident.
