A Florida man was arrested after he drunkenly taunted a disabled person at a Disney World restaurant, then got into a scuffle with his family, police said.
Brent George, 61, allegedly approached a four-person table in the Bellevue Lounge at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and taunted the girl, who has Down syndrome. The complaint said: About the incident in January.
The girl’s mother, Candice Boyette Goldberg, allegedly confronted George and demanded to know if he was making fun of her daughter, whose identity has not been revealed.
According to the complaint, George shoved the woman twice before slapping the woman’s stepdaughter, Maria Ayalde, in the face as she tried to de-escalate the situation.
The Sebring, Fla., man then punched Ayalde’s husband, Wesley Goldberg, in the neck, and Wesley Goldberg returned the jab in the face, police said.
Police said a bystander intervened, wrapped George in a bear hug and tried to remove him from the restaurant.
According to the complaint, George told police that “a glass cup hit him” during the fight, and witnesses corroborated that statement. He also had several cuts on his face.
Police noted that no glass was found at the scene.
The complaint states that the man, his wife, and two friends had been drinking at a bar before the attack, and told police that the family of four was “having a good time” before the attack.

The Ohio man refused to provide a statement to police despite requests for charges against the quartet.
The other four gave written statements to police and asked for prosecution.
George was arrested for hitting his family and charged with four counts of assault. He was taken to the Orange County Jail, where he spent the night.
