Florida Man Charged with Triple Murder of Tourists
A man in Florida has been accused of shooting and killing three tourists who were stranded at a rental property in a popular area near Walt Disney World, as reported by authorities.
On Saturday, Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, 29, was arrested by Osceola County Sheriff Christopher Blackmon, who described the incident as “cold-blooded.” The victims were staying next door to Bojeh’s home in Kissimmee.
Police received a 911 call about gunfire at a rental property located on Indian Point Circle around 12:14 p.m. According to Sheriff Blackmon, officers discovered three men with gunshot wounds lying in a yard when they arrived.
The victims have been identified as brothers Robert Louis Craft, 70, from Holland, Michigan, and Douglas Joseph Craft, 68, from Columbus, Ohio. A third friend, also 68 and from Ohio, has not yet been named, pending notification of his family.
Only an hour after the shooting, authorities found Bojeh in his home next to the rental property and arrested him on three counts of first-degree murder.
Blackmon stated that the attack was premeditated and unprovoked, noting there was no prior conflict between Bojeh and the victims. “It was just a coincidence,” he added, emphasizing the randomness of the tragedy.
During a search of Bojeh’s residence, police recovered two firearms and are looking into whether they were used in the murders.
Earlier that day, the tourists had faced car trouble that forced them to extend their stay at the rental property, while another member of their group had left just a day before, according to the sheriff.
The specifics of what the tourists were doing in the area or how long they had been there remain unclear.
Blackmon characterized Bojeh as a troubled individual who had frequently interacted with the sheriff’s office. Court documents indicate Bojeh was arrested in 2021 for firing at people and vehicles in a Kissimmee gas station, during which a man was injured. He was later found not guilty by reason of insanity.
“He was always a threat to the area,” Blackmon remarked, expressing concern about Bojeh’s history.
The sheriff also noted that the investigation is still developing. “It just seems haphazard,” he said, acknowledging the ongoing efforts to uncover all the facts of the case.
Kissimmee, known for its rental properties and proximity to Disney World, is a bustling neighborhood just a short drive from the theme park.
A judge has ordered Bojeh be held without bail in the Osceola County Jail.
