A Florida man was arrested this week on animal cruelty charges after he allegedly shot his dog in the face during an argument with his fiancee over an affair, authorities said.
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a news conference Tuesday that Farhad Dayham, 41, threatened to shoot everyone in his home, including two children, after he was accused of cheating. did.
When officers arrived at the home Monday night, they found the dog, Louie, hiding “with blood gushing from his neck and face.”

“These screams continued even after the video stopped,” Marceno said. “The dog showed no aggression and just wanted to be loved.”

Later, Louis appeared at a press conference in good spirits, was presented with a cupcake by Marceno, and said, “Today is Louis’ birthday to me.”
After Louis ate the cupcake, he added: “As you can see, this is a great dog that needs a lot of love.”
“Our suspect, he committed the one thing that makes him the worst human being. After 13 years of dating and having a domestic relationship, that was the only thing he committed to. The reason he’s not committed to the relationship is because he’s cheating on his own husband.” Go out and shoot the dog this time. ”

“We literally just hid and found our dog Louie outside suffering and bleeding,” Marceno reiterated. “It’s not just a dog, it’s not just an animal. Unfortunately, I know there are people out there who think that way,” he said. “This is also the mindset of the person who does this. If you don’t care about animals, I’ll tell you right now, those are flags you’ve never seen. Because it’s a certain mindset. That’s because they don’t care about animals. They have no heart.”
