Florida Man Who Threatened to Kill Trump Caught with Cocaine

A West Palm Beach, Florida, man is accused of making threats against President Trump via social media.

Police said the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Shannon Depara Atkins, was arrested during a traffic stop Friday evening. new york post has been reported Saturday.

In a news release, West Palm Beach and police officers said A tip was received by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Threat Operations Center from a man in Okeechebee, Florida, reporting a suspected threat against Trump. He then led investigators to the source of an online post he had apparently seen on Facebook.

On January 20, West Palm Beach Police Department detectives assigned to the FBI Task Force began an investigation that led to Shannon Depararro Atkins, 46, of 650 Pacific Grove Dr. 6, West Palm Beach. As the investigation progressed, Atkins was observed and arrested following a traffic stop on Friday, January 24, 2025 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Just before 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, Atkins was pulled over near his home in the 400 block of Pacific Grove Drive, driving a 2013 white BMW 750li. Atkins was in possession of cocaine at the time of his arrest. He faces a charge of possession of cocaine.

In an interview with detectives, Atkins admitted to creating the post. He is in the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Main Detention Center. There, he faces one count of making written or electronic threats to kill, cause bodily injury, or commit a mass shooting or act of terrorism. West Palm Beach detectives notified the U.S. Secret Service, which will determine whether Atkins faces federal charges.

Nearly a dozen of Trump's cabinet picks and appointees had their lives threatened in November, Breitbart News reported.

“The threat, which came on the eve of Thanksgiving, follows two attempts on Trump's life in recent months, including in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump was shot in the ear,” the outlet said.

In September, an Idaho man reportedly threatened to kill Trump “personally” and reportedly made the threat in a call to his Mar-a-Lago resort, according to Breitbart News .

Another Florida man was arrested in 2020 after he was accused of threatening to kill Trump on a Facebook Live video.
