Florida Woman’s Father Claims She’s the Victim in Sexual Abuse Case
A 25-year-old woman from Florida, who allegedly pretended to be a teenager and sexually assaulted five middle school boys, is described by her father as “mentally deficient” and, in a sense, a victim herself. Alyssa Ann Zinger, raised in a “good Christian family” near Tampa, has faced numerous mental health challenges, including ADHD, OCD, and anorexia, according to her father, Josh Zinger.
“She had a lot of issues growing up,” he mentioned, noting that she had consulted with up to a dozen psychologists and psychiatrists throughout her life. It’s tragic, really. He pointed out that she scored only 72 on an IQ test, significantly below the average.
“She’s defective. Mentally defective,” he said. “And legally, that means if someone has sex with a mentally challenged person, it’s illegal, regardless of age.” He insisted, “The fact is, she is the victim.” Zinger was arrested last year, suspected of posing as a 14-year-old on social media and engaging in sexual acts with boys aged 12 to 15.
He expressed anger towards the boy he accused of luring his daughter into this situation, describing him as someone who manipulated her and took her virginity. “This kid found her,” he remarked, recalling how he saw her dancing online and eventually picked her up to take her to a pricey apartment.
According to Josh, the boy was aware of Alyssa’s real age and mental state but still led her into a hidden world, introducing her to other young boys who then became alleged victims as well. “He kept her at his place for months, introducing her to friends while letting them believe she was younger. It was all part of a game,” he claimed.
As for the legal repercussions, he emphasized that he does not expect any plea deals or leniency; she will face the consequences of her actions, including possible probation.
In April 2024, Zinger was apprehended again after authorities located four additional middle school victims tied to her case. Currently, she is facing serious charges, including lewd or lascivious battery and possession of child pornography, which are all felonies.
Her father also raised concerns about her treatment in jail, claiming she receives poor-quality food that often contains foreign objects, allegedly because other inmates know her identity and are hostile towards her.
Her trial is set for May, and it remains a deeply unsettling situation, to say the least.
