James McCoy Taylor Arrested Again

James McCoy Taylor, known for his appearance on “The Bachelorette,” was arrested in Texas on Friday. This comes in relation to an assault case that dates back to 2024. He had previously pleaded guilty to the charges last year.

According to records, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office arrested Taylor, but he was released the same day after posting a $10,000 bond. This incident unfolded when College Station Police apprehended him at a bar, following a warrant issued by the Bryan Police Department.

The charges against Taylor include assault causing injury and unlawful restraint, stemming from an incident involving a 19-year-old college student who alleged he physically assaulted her and prohibited her from leaving his residence. However, it wasn’t until August 4 that he was officially charged.

In April, he had pleaded guilty to these charges and received an 18-month probation, along with 80 hours of community service, and fines totaling over $1,000. He was also mandated to attend anger management classes, maintain no contact with the victim, and stay away from the Northgate Entertainment District.

This recent arrest resulted from a probation revocation due to his failure to fully pay the court-ordered fines. Records indicate he owes $300 after having made only partial payments.

Following his arrest, Taylor gave a statement addressing the situation, denying any wrongdoing. He noted he had only a minor scratch and questioned the validity of the allegations against him, suggesting that if injuries existed, they would have become well-known online.

Remarkably, he also mentioned some personal feelings about his family, expressing a desire for a better relationship with his daughter, whom he feels he doesn’t know well due to time apart.

It’s worth noting that Taylor has faced legal troubles before, including a drunk driving arrest in September 2022, which also involved unlawful possession of a weapon. During that incident, he was found intoxicated after urinating in a parking lot and was seen running back to his truck. Police discovered a loaded handgun in the vehicle.

In a career twist, Taylor appeared on Season 12 of “The Bachelorette,” where he was sent home by JoJo Fletcher during week seven. Taylor is now married to Mackenzie Linden and is a stepfather to her four daughters, in addition to having his own daughter.
