Former Disney star Cole Sprouse’s embarrassing ‘Riverdale’ moment: ‘I had split my pants’

Cole Sprouse is getting serious about his most embarrassing moment.

In an interview for Elle’s Ask Me Anything series, Cole talked about his time as Jughead on the CW’s hit teen drama Riverdale. The actor recalled that while filming scenes for the show, he had limited attempts to knock and open doors or react when he saw a dead body.

“I scramble backwards toward the door frame, elbows and feet,” he explained. “It’s like he’s leaning against the door. He’s kind of freaked out. Oh my god, the milkman is dead. He gets cut and he’s like, ‘Damn, I nailed that look down.'” My pants are torn.

“My whole genitals was just hanging off the center frame, so it’s like it’s completely attached, dude,” he continued. “I looked down and said, ‘Is my B out?'” It was one of the funniest things in the seven years of that show, and it happened just towards the end. . ”

Cole played Jughead on the show for seven seasons from 2017 to 2023, alongside Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa, and Camila Mendes.

Based on the popular Archie Comics comic book characters, “Riverdale” follows high school students Veronica Lodge, Betty Cooper, Jughead, and Archie Andrews as they navigate love, school, and family. They become involved in unraveling the town’s dark mysteries.

Like most teen dramas, the characters on “Riverdale” are often placed in unrealistic and exaggerated situations.

“We poured maple syrup on someone and waterboarded them. That was insane,” he said. “I think ultimately the writers got to a point where they said, ‘How do we jump the shark with this episode?'” I wanted them to see it. But then you have to be on set, and you have to take it very seriously.”

Cole began his career as a child actor, co-starring with Adam Sandler in Big Daddy and appearing in several episodes of Friends as Ben. His big break came in 2005 when he began appearing on Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody alongside his twin brother Dylan Sprouse.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in January, Cole revealed that he is still friends with many of the cast and crew, saying, “After spending eight years on a soundstage with a crew, they become very close friends.” In a sense, it is inevitable.”

“Honestly, when you shoot so many episodes of a show, it’s like they all blend together into one big amorphous memory,” he explained. “So I don’t remember much from that time.

“The specific details are kind of lost. It was a different time.”
