Texas Teacher Faces New Sexual Conduct Charges

A former art teacher from Texas is under investigation for allegedly grooming and engaging in inappropriate relationships with multiple students, as reported by local authorities.

The Irving Police Department made this disclosure, indicating that Haley Krista Radabaugh, who is 28, was arrested in May over suspicions related to child grooming.

In a recent development, police stated that Radabaugh was taken into custody again on July 3, now facing a charge of having an improper relationship between an educator and a student.

She was subsequently booked into the Denton County Jail and released the following day after posting bail.

It has been reported that the charge of an inappropriate relationship carries serious penalties, including a possible two to 20 years in prison, depending on the circumstances.

Radabaugh was previously an art instructor at Barbara Bush Middle School, which is part of the Carrollton Farmers Branch Independent School District.

In May, the school district was informed by several students about Radabaugh’s alleged excessive and inappropriate interactions with minors, which prompted an arrest warrant to be issued.

According to students’ statements, Radabaugh reportedly engaged in sexual conversations with at least three middle schoolers and was even accused of providing drugs to them.

A 14-year-old student mentioned that Radabaugh sent him suggestive messages on Instagram, including notes claiming, “Before you, there was a girl I had a crush on,” and suggested a mutual exchange of photos.

In one instance, she is said to have sent a photo of herself reportedly emerging from the shower, which was framed to obscure part of the image’s identity.

Additionally, Radabaugh allegedly referred to the boy as “baby” and often closed her messages with flirty emojis, which the student found disturbing enough to lose sleep over.

The Carrollton Farmers Branch Independent School District addressed the situation by expressing sadness and disappointment over the allegations, noting they are unable to disclose many details because Radabaugh is a former employee and the police investigation is still ongoing.

While Radabaugh is not currently listed in the staff directory, records indicate that she started teaching in the district for the 2022-23 school year and received her teaching license in 2021. The Texas Education Agency is examining her credentials in light of these allegations.

Notably, Radabaugh is the fourth teacher from the same district to be charged with a sexual crime this year.
