Joy Reid Questions Media Coverage of Trump’s Alleged Injuries
Former MSNBC host Joy Reid openly expressed her skepticism about the media’s reporting on President Donald Trump’s health, particularly following an alleged assassination attempt during a Pennsylvania rally last year. On a YouTube channel hosted by her former colleague Katie Fan, Reid remarked that she “knows nothing” about the injuries in question.
Reid criticized the way the media handles inquiries about Trump’s past as a candidate, especially regarding the supposed assassination attempt. “It seems they can’t even ask about it,” she stated. She pointed to bizarre claims from a doctor that Trump had been shot in the ear and noted inconsistencies in his medical narrative. “He had bandages one moment, then none the next. We haven’t seen any medical records related to this supposed attack,” she said.
She expressed disbelief, recalling how quickly Trump’s condition seemed to change. “One day he had a bandage up, and the next day everything was fine. Where are the investigation reports?” she questioned. Reid argued that the mainstream media seems wary of confronting Trump about these issues, suggesting they are more likely to dig into past political assassination attempts rather than current events.
“We’re just not getting any information, and it seems like no one wants to ask the tough questions,” she continued, expressing frustration over the lack of transparency regarding Trump’s health.
After the incident, Reid also speculated about the nature of Trump’s injuries, pondering whether they were caused by glass rather than a bullet. She questioned various details surrounding the incident, such as where the gunman was positioned and why Trump seemed so composed moments after the shooting. “How did the gunman get on the roof of a building where police were present?” she asked.
Reid’s ongoing critique of the media’s response highlights what she sees as a troubling lack of accountability in reporting on Trump’s health and safety concerns.
